It's an exciting time at Disney Cruise Line. Our two ships, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, welcome the addition of two more ships, doubling the capacity for family cruising vacations! Our modern interpretations of the classic ocean liners of the 1930's will continue, but on a larger scale - 124,000 tons larger!
Launch dates for our new ships are 2011 and 2012!

Company History
History was made on July 30, 1998, when the Disney Magic® embarked on its maiden voyage from Port Canaveral, Florida. It was joined by its sister ship, the Disney Wonder®, on August 15, 1999.

- Ground was broken on Castaway Cay in May, 1996.
- Maiden voyage Guests for the Disney Magic® were selected by lottery in February, 1997.
- The Disney Magic® departed from Venice, Italy on July 1, 1998.
- The Disney Magic® arrived at Port Canaveral for the first time on July 15, 1998.
- The maiden voyage of the Disney Magic® took place on July 30, 1998.
- The first Disney Cruise Line® wedding occured on Castaway Cay on Valentine's Day, 1999.
- The one hundredth sailing of the Disney Magic® was celebrated on July 9, 1999.
- The Disney Wonder® departed from Venice, Italy on July 14, 1999.
- The Disney Wonder® arrived at Port Canaveral for the first time on August 2, 1999.
- The maiden voyage of the Disney Wonder® took place on August 15, 1999.
- The Disney Cruise Line® celebrated its one millionth guest family on August 30, 2001.
