Company Profile
Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles
Company Overview
Our Mission
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
Summer camp is where girls start to foster independence, develop a deep appreciation for nature and outdoor adventures, and gain friendships and memories that last for years to come. At camp, the Girl Scout Leadership Experience truly comes to life.
Girl-led opportunities and decision-making are encouraged throughout each camp session to promote independence and teach problem-solving skills. Our camp programs focus on giving girls the opportunities to discover themselves and connect with others as they challenge themselves in a fun, safe environment, creating memories and shaping abilities that last a lifetime.
Our day camps and overnight resident camps run from June through August, so whether your girl is a first-time or experienced camper, Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles has a summer camp program that’s right for her.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
We're 2.6 million strong—1.8 million girls and 800,000 adults who believe in the power of every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ to change the world.
Our extraordinary journey began more than 100 years ago with the original G.I.R.L., Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low. On March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, she organized the very first Girl Scout troop, and every year since, we’ve honored her vision and legacy, building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
We’re the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. With programs from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.
