Company Profile

Highbrook Lodge

Company Overview

Cleveland Sight Center is one of the country's premier rehabilitation agencies serving people who have low vision or who are blind. Founded in 1928, Highbrook Lodge has been providing a unique summer camp experience for those of all ages who are blind or have low vision. In fact, we were one of the first camps in the United States built specifically for individuals with vision loss. Highbrook Lodge utilizes the benefits of our natural environment to promote friendship, growth, independence and self-sufficiency through traditional camp activities adapted to the needs of our campers.

As a camp, Highbrook Lodge serves individuals with vision loss and blindness, those who are deaf and blind, and individuals who have other disabilities in addition to their vision loss. In addition, we serve parents and siblings of our campers through our weekend family sessions. We have something for everyone! Highbrook Lodge offers week-long sessions specifically for kids, teens and adults and weekend sessions for families. In addition, we hold one-day trips to allow campers new and old to experience a day in the life at Highbrook.

Company History

In 1906 volunteer leadership created The Cleveland Society for the Blind, which is currently named Cleveland Sight Center (CSC). Today, volunteers in partnership with professional staff work to meet the needs of people with vision loss in our community. We welcome you to that partnership and appreciate your willingness to dedicate your time, energy and talents.

Our mission is to empower people who are blind or who have limited vision to realize their full potential and to shape the community's vision of that potential.

Our goal is to enable those who are blind or have low vision to achieve independence. We educate, empower and employ; providing training and guidance to our clients and the communities we serve.
