Highland Lakes Camp and Conference Center

Company Overview

Our Mission:
Nestled in the Hill Country of Central Texas on the shores of Lake Travis, Highland Lakes Camp and Conference Center seeks to offer a place of retreat, reflection, and refreshment to individuals desiring an encounter with their Lord and Saviour. Our Mission is twofold. First we desire to minister to the Body of Christ by providing a place for today's believers to grow in dynamic relationship with God. Second, our passion is to provide a unique atmosphere for unbelievers to meet their Creator and to experience the salvation that comes by grace through faith in Christ.

Company History

Highland Lakes was founded in 1954 by the Baptist churches of Central Texas with the vision of reaching people for Christ. Over the years we have dramatically increased in size and serve over 20,000 guests a year. Almost half of those are in the summer months alone. We currently employ about 15 full time staff in adition to the blessing of many volunteers. During the summer months we hire between 40-50 Summer Missionaries help do the ministry of the Lord during the summer months.

The Summer Missions Team Program is a lifechanging missions experience for 12 weeks during the sumemr months. Through this unique ministry college students who desire to participate in summer missions are encouraged to follow the example of our Savior, who came to serve and minister to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of others. College students accepted into this program will be placed in teams according to their gifts, talents, and abiltities. These teams serve in many ways like working in the dining hall, serving as lifeguards, or doing maintenance and general work for camp upkeep. The Summer Missionaries also travel in teams to share the gospel in Central Texas churches in fun creative ways.

Notable Accomplishments / Recognition

Over 1000 decisions were made for Christ this past summer alone, and over 500 of those were for salvation. God gets all the glory from this because it is nothing we have done to accomplish this task, but what He does through us.
