Company Overview
True Friends is the nation’s largest special needs camping organization with a long standing history of providing high-quality camping, respite, and travel programs to children and adults with disabilities. Our programs run each summer at all five locations, during winter break at Camp Courage and Camp Friendship, and weekends throughout the year at Camp Friendship and Camp Eden Wood.
Company History
True Friends is the result of two legacy providers coming together. Courage Center Camps and Friendship Ventures partnered together in November 2012 to create a new camp organization to serve people with disabilities. This collaboration brings together two of Minnesota’s largest and most dynamic providers in the disability community. Both organizations have rich histories of providing exceptional and much needed services. Camp Courage was established in 1955 to service individuals with physical disabilities. Friendship Ventures was established in 1964, serving participants with developmental disabilities and special needs.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
Hosting five camps, and serving almost 4000 clients annually, True Friends is the largest special needs camping organization in the United States.
