About the Role
The Director of Youth, Family & Camp leads all youthcentered programming within the assigned YMCA Center, including Play & Learn, Day Camp, family programs, special events, and emerging youth/family initiatives. This role ensures highquality program delivery, strong participant engagement, safe operations, and responsible financial management aligned with Association goals.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for Play & Learn, Day Camp, family programming, and special events.
Manage staff schedules, program operations, and standardized Day Camp processes in collaboration with Center leadership.
Select, train, supervise, and evaluate paid and volunteer staff.
Support budget development, staffing ratios, expense control, and financial accountability.
Evaluate programs and recommend improvements aligned with Association strategic priorities.
Maintain program records, documentation, and prepare reports (including grant outcome reporting).
Serve as Manager on Duty during assigned weeknight and weekend rotations.
Oversee program equipment, facilities, and offsite locations.
Engage with community partners to identify and respond to youth and family needs.
Support Association initiatives including World Service education, fundraising, and the annual campaign.
Provide direct leadership to assigned programs and assist with additional projects as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications
BA/BS in child development, recreation, elementary education, or related field; or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of professional experience in YMCA or similar youthserving organization.
Strong skills in program development, event planning, and volunteer engagement.
Ability to relate effectively to all age groups.
Demonstrated collaboration skills with internal partners to build wellrounded youth and family programs.
High level of organization, project management, and multitasking ability.
Completion of required Praesidium trainings within first 30 days:

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Regularly required to sit, use hands, and perform administrative tasks.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, talk, and hear.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Work environment ranges from typical office noise to moderate/loud program areas.
Occasional travel to other YMCA Centers.
